Enjoy a special event in Beleura’s gardens to mark Valentine’s Day with Melbourne Opera’s singers Breanna Stuart and Hartley Trusler performing a selection of arias.
Breanna Stuart — soprano
Tasmanian-born Breanna Stuart is a soprano based in Melbourne, Australia. Recently, Breanna made her debut at Fiordiligi in Melbourne Opera’s production of Così fan Tutte. Her other theatre credits include Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, and Suor Angelica (Melbourne Opera), The Turn of the Screw (IOpera), The Grumpiest Boy in the World (Victorian Opera), Die Zauberflöte (Melbourne Conservatorium of Music), and The Consul (ACOCo).
Breanna is the 2025 winner of the Sydney International Song Prize, and the Dame Elizabeth Murdoch Prize in the 2025 Herald Sun Aria.
Breanna is a current Richard Divall Emerging Artist with Melbourne Opera, and a 2023/2024 alumna of Opera Scholars Australia
Hartley Trusler — baritone
Hartley is a Melbourne-based baritone from Perth, Western Australia. His performance credits include Guglielmo in Melbourne Opera’s production of Così fan tutte, an Apprentice in Melbourne Opera’s production of Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, the roles of Monostatos (Die Zauberflöte) and Lysander (A Midsummer Night’s Dream) at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music.
Hartley is currently an Emerging Artist in Melbourne Opera’s Richard Divall Program and has been a member of Opera Scholars Australia since 2023..
Raymond Lawrence – Head of Music and Accompanist.
Raymond is Head of Music and Chorus Master at Melbourne Opera and is one of Australia’s most highly regarded vocal coaches, accompanists, and opera conductors.
Most recently, Raymond has conducted a highly successful season of Donizetti’s Maria Stuarda for Melbourne Opera. He has also conducted performances of Macbeth, Anna Bolena, Roberto Devereux, Lucrezia Borgia, Rossini’s Otello, The Barber of Seville, La Traviata, Pearl Fishers, The Abduction of Seraglio, HMS Pinafore, Lucia di Lammermoor, La Boheme and Suor Angelica.
As Head of Music and Chorus Master Raymond coached and prepared Wagner’s Des Ring des Nibelungen, Der fliegende Holländer, Tristan und Isolde, Lohengrin, Rienzi and Beethoven’s Fidelio. In addition, he was Music Director for Opera Australia’s Victorian Schools Company and Stonnington Opera in the Park.
This program will be held outdoors in Beleura’s Palm Garden but will be moved into the Pavilion if the weather is unsuitable.
Concert and Afternoon Tea included.
